Dear Parents & Carer,
I am writing to let you know that the official start of Year 11 Study Leave for the GCSE examinations this year is Friday 9th June 2017. On that day, pupils will be expected to wear normal school uniform and will leave school at the usual time of 3.00pm. We have chosen this particular day as it ends a week of lots of exams taken by the majority of pupils. During this week we expect your daughter to attend each day. When she is not in an actual examination she will go to her usual lessons where she will be expected to undertake supervised revision. There are some GCSEs taking place in the two weeks after 9th June. Some teachers have arranged specific revision sessions to support your daughter during her Study Leave. If these have been arranged then it is vital that your daughter attends them. If your daughter would like to come into school to revise during Study Leave, she is more than welcome and we will provide a quiet and supervised space for her to do so. She will need to sign in / out at Reception so that we know exactly who is on site (in case of emergencies). Tips on how to revise can be found in your daughter’s planners, the School Website or on Moodle (Student / Home Study). The last GCSE examination will take place on the morning of 23rd June, and this is Edexcel Science Physics Unit 3. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Mrs McAuley on 0121 464 8346. Yours sincerely Richard Crookes Headteacher |
