A leadership award has been launched with all year 8 students to recognise the wonderful leadership qualities of our pupils and to prepare them for opportunities to lead in upper school. The award is called ‘Leading by Example’ and students have to collect evidence for at least ten things on the list of 15 to gain the award by the end of the year.
Things they are working towards achieving include ‘ Organise a charity event in your year group’, ‘Collect 150 merits in a school term’, ‘Be an effective school monitor on three occasions’ and ‘Represent a school sports team on at least three occasions’. Each student has a leadership booklet in their planners with all 15 things they can achieve. Lots of girls have already made a great start by being an effective guide on the school’s open evening. We were so pleased to see so many year 8 pupils represent our school in this way and making a wonderful start towards becoming excellent leaders.
