There are 10 teams in each age group. Many of the other schools have club athletes who compete regularly for their clubs out of school.
Turves Green Girls were leading the Year 7 and Overall Competition until the 4th league event in February. Then all 3 of our teams were badly affected by injuries and Aussie Flu and were overtaken by Sandwell Academy. There was just too much to make up in the Final and we finished a very close 2nd.
The performances throughout have been outstanding, both from individuals and from the team as a whole. Results were as follows :- YEAR 7 - 2nd YEAR 8 - 2nd YEAR 9 - 2nd
Sandwell Indoor Athletics League 2017-18 - YEAR 7, 8 &9 – Competitions Combined - 2nd Overall
KINGS NORTON DISTRICT NETBALL LEAGUES
The Senior Team have had a good season in the Kings Norton League. They have only lost one game v King Edwards 5 Ways. This was a very close game and Turves Green were leading after the 3rd Quarter out of 4. This team have performed consistently well in the District League since Year 7. A lot of the teams they play against are either private schools, or have a number of players who also play for successful teams at club level. So this makes their achievements even more amazing. League positions for the last 5 years are as follows:-
Year 7 2013-14 2nd Year 8 2014-15 2nd Year 9 2015-16 2nd Year 10 2016-17 1st Year 11 2017-18 2nd

KINGS NORTON DISTRICT NETBALL TOURNAMENT
Senior District Tournament – Tuesday 21st March 2017
The Senior Team played 6 matches in their District Tournament at Shenley Academy on the above date. They were in a tough group and had to play some excellent teams including King Edwards Five Ways, Queensbridge, Priory, Swanshurst and Kings Norton Girls-who reached the National Finals in 2016.
Turves Green finished 2nd in this tough group, winning 3 and losing 2. They went through to the Semi Final due to a better Goal Average. Three teams had finished on equal points, which showed how tough the group was! They played King Edwards Camp Hill in the Semi Final. Most of the Camp Hill team play in Netball Clubs outside school and proved too strong for our team. So Turves Green finished 3rd overall.
This is their best performance and achievement in the District Tournaments. They got to the Semi Final in Year 7 losing to Kings Norton Girls and finished 3rd Equal
Well Done to all the Senior Netball Squad.
Well done to all those who have played in the Netball teams this year. Fantastic Achievements.

OUTDOOR CRICKET 2017-18
Well done to the Under 14 Cricket team, who recently qualified for the All Birmingham Cricket Finals at King Edwards High school on the 12th July. It was the first time in our history, that we had qualified for this event
The first game was tough as it was against the eventually winners Arthur Terry from Sutton Coldfield. They had some excellent County players and we suffered a heavy defeat. The next game was against Bordesley Green Girls and that game was lost narrowly. However, the team managed to win their last group game against Hall Green.
The team then played off for 7th and 8th place but once again suffered a narrow defeat, so finished in 8th place.
Well done to all the members of the team for all their efforts throughout the Indoor and Outdoor season.
Also well done to Mr Reeves and Bob Walpole, who have spent many hours coaching the team this year. The standard of play has improved greatly.
